Not as easy the second time around.....

We had our second ER visit with Cash this past Monday night. He was playing with some cousins at Bridger's grandfather's viewing and fell somehow and cut the back of his head open. He received three staples in the back of his head, sorry the picture isn't all that great. It definitely wasn't as easy as the last time we had him sewn up. The doctors thought it wouldn't be necessary to sedate him; him climbing all over there cupboards and room wasn't a good enough indicator. So they just came in washed it up and stapled it without even numbing the site. Cash was screaming. I felt so bad and wish now I would have said something but I think Bridger and I were in shock because it never crossed my mind that they weren't going to at least numb it. The staples look ridiculous they have a huge gap in between the second and third one and there is even hair underneath them. He doesn't seem to be traumatized from it, kids are so resilient.

So. Not. Fun. I'm sorry about his head. I am in shock that they didn't numb it. But, I'm glad he's not traumatized by it. Scars are cool, right?

I am affraid of the day i have a boy. I get sad when the girls get shots! I'd hate to see them in the ER over and over again. You're tough...no wait Cash is tough.

Argh- I hate how we have to be on our toes at the doctors to make up for the lack of common sense and compassion. Saturday the nurse getting blood drips out of Bree's finger ignored her wails as she literally rubbed the skin off her knuckle trying to keep the blood flowing enough to fill the stupid vial. What's really annoying is the scab on Bree's finger is the absolute ONLY way that whole procedure will effect us. The results won't change a thing!

Poor Cash! :( So good they are little enough to forget it within a few days.
