So the last couple of weeks have been chaotic around our house. Here are some of the crazy things we have experienced.
- Cash and Jade were both sick and we were pretty much quarantined in our house for 12 days. They both started out having high fevers and then it turned into chancor looking sores all over their mouth and down their throat. We took them to the doctor and he diagnosed them with viral stomatitis which is basically hand foot and mouth disease. They were given some tylenol with codeine. The medicine worked great for Jade she basically just slept her little life away. She is really tough and never complains much. Cash on the other hand is a whiner, he has a really hard time functioning when he doesnt feel well and pretty much complains about it non stop. The codeine didnt really work for him other than I think made him hyper.
-This crazy rain we have been having flooded our basement again. Luckily it was only a small area this time. So we put some buckets on top of the window well where we had problems trying to keep some of he water out. Everytime it would rain Bridger or I would have to go out and empty the buckets periodically. We also had to move the chickens back in the garage during a huge hail storm it was pretty funny. Bridger and I were out there moving them and were both sopping wet by the time we were done.
-We have been potty training Cash, which is going pretty well now but was really rough for a few days. He has had no desire to do and finally Bridger and I were sick of it so we told him they didn't have his size diapers at Costco anymore. Our days are hit and miss now but for the most part he does pretty well. I have realized you can make Cash do just about anything for a Thomas train and some peanut butter cups.
- I decided after Jade started feeling better that I was going to stop nursing her. She did not think it was a very good idea and still at night struggles a little bit. We left her one and only binki over at grandma and grandpa's the other night so we have stopped giving her that too. Poor thing probably feels like her whole world has been turned upside down. She is starting to do better and drink her milk (chocolate) better. Its kindof weird for me this is the first time in almost 3 1/2 years I haven't been nursing or pregnant. Now all I can do is work my butt off try and get where I want to be so I can get pregnant again. :)
-One great thing about these last two weeks is Bridger has been off, it has been so nice to have him here helping. I am sure he feels differently and I think was probably pretty relieved to go back to work. I was grateful to have him home otherwise I dont think I would be sane anymore, which sometimes I still question.
